Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other
related duties may be assigned)
- Leads and manages packing operation of up to 25 EE's
- Coordinates indirect activities that affect production such is
planning of WO's, future runs, warehouse support, and maintenance
support
- Ensures compliance with company policies, standards, and
procedures
- Assures adherence to quality and food safety
specifications
- Engages people to achieve safety objectives
- Leads by example in practicing servant leadership
- Ensure material usage is optimize minimizing waste
- Adheres to labor standards
- Engages team in CI mentality
- Work with management and peers in CI initiatives
- Monitors employees' performance and communicates as needed with
other departments heads to identify and address issues including
HR
- Assist in the "start-up" of the shift by assuring that
employees are ready to perform their functions and that equipment
is in the appropriate position
- Provides on-the-job training to new and existing personnel
- Knows and masters every job on the line
- Records production activity and provide feedback for
improvement
- Fills production performance reports
- Analyzes data to make educated decisions
- Ensures compliance of sanitation, allergen control
requirements, FDA requirements, and HACCP programs
- Meets and exceeds production productivity targets
- Closes WO's and jobs using ERP system ensuring high
accuracy
- Works in collaboration with planning, materials, and
maintenance department to reduce production downtime
- Works in continuous improvement projects to reduce waste,
product overweight, and improves yield
- Ensures EEs under his/her shift comply with company policies
and procedures
- Ensures that process flow of production jobs to maximize
utilization of labor and resources
- Verifies/checks material against work order for quality
assurance, identification, and quantity purposes. Prepares staged
kits for the manufacturing and production process
- Provides documented training for all packaging techniques
- Recommends equipment, product, material and quality process for
the assigned areas
- Provides input to employee performance reviews and
recommendation for promotion/advancement
- Promotes a fair, friendly, collaborative, and professionally
work environment To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The
requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required. Qualification Requirements and Skills:
- Able to lead and manage highly automated production lines
- Ability to lead technical operators
- Good writing, and verbal communication skills. (English/Spanish
is a must)
- Able to communicate with senior leadership and production
EEs
- Excellent leader, coach, and motivator
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in highly automated
pharmaceutical or food production packing
- Experienced in USDA or FDA environment food packing
operations
- Ability to manage technical operators
- Demonstration of analytical skills
- Six sigma or lean six sigma principles exposure
- Able to demonstrate basic math skills such is basic
calculations, percentages, ratios, etc.
- This position requires problem solving and decision-making
responsibility.
- Experience with Material handling equipment such as forklifts,
standard and electric, pallet jacks, standup forklifts
- Candidate must be self motivated, flexible, and a team player
and must enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging
environment
- Able to work flexible hours. Candidate must be willing to work
several consecutive week days and weekends, and holidays as
required to meet the goals of the company Education and training:
- Industrial Engineering or BSBM degree (preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma experience (preferred)
- ERP proficiency
