Grossmont Surgery Center is a fast-paced outpatient surgery center with 3 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms located in La Mesa CA. We operate Monday through Friday. No nights or weekends.

Our specialties include: Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology.

Our focus is on providing a safe patient culture and positive patient outcomes while serving our physicians and community.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technician under the direction of the Registered Nurse, will be responsible for providing excellent patient care in various departments as assigned by leadership. We expect willingness to cross-train as necessary to be able to meet the needs of the center to include: Sterile Processing, OR, GI departments including scope reprocessing. The position requires strong communication skills with patients, teammates and physicians. Strong teamwork is a must. As a part time teammate, you may be asked to take on additional tasks such as Quality Council or committees.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain conscientious infection control practices.
• Maintain instrumentation and equipment per IFU.
• Adhere to policies and procedures when providing patient care.
• Function as certified scrub technician in the operating/procedure room under the direct of the Registered Nurse.
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours according to the needs of the center
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • BLS required at time of hire
  • Surgical Technician Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years acute care or outpatient experience preferred
  • SPD experience a plus
  • Recent experience in surgical specialties a plus
