Takeda as a Senior Research Associate I, Neuroinflammation In Vitro
where you will will be part of a Neurogastroenterology team focused
on development of neuroinflammation-related in vitro primary
cultures (neurons and glia) and assays (cell based & biochemical)
and evaluation of assets for drug discovery programs in the
therapeutic area of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. You -will apply
expertise in cell pharmacology and biochemistry to contribute to
the neuroinflammation in vitro platform and generate key data for
small molecules and biologics to support projects. -How you will
contribute:
- Establishes, optimizes, and maintains primary in vitro cell
cultures and cell lines.
- Develops neuroinflammation relevant in vitro functional assays
for target validation using contemporary biochemical and cell based
assays with appropriate controls.
- Independently conducts complex experiments within a project
scope, exercising judgement to evaluate a variety of technical
factors, and obtain optimum solutions.
- Independently provides work group with technical guidance and
problem resolution related to methods, procedures, and processes.
Prepares and presents technical information at group meetings.
- Generates quality data using in vitro assays with a high level
of efficiency; reviews and reports assay results to project teams;
may present data/posters to external research or scientific
community.
- Expected to organize time and plan specifics of project related
work with oversight from manager or project representative.
- Utilizes assigned literature to increase knowledge base and
implement improvements.
- Keeps an accurate, comprehensible, concise notebook in
accordance with company policy.
- Maintains lab equipment and supplies as needed, maintains a
safe and organized lab bench.
- Communicates with colleagues effectively.Minimum
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Requires an MS in a scientific discipline (or equivalent), or a
BS degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent) with 2+ years
experience, or Associates degree in a scientific discipline with 4+
years relevant industry experience.
- Enjoying bench science, scientifically curious, self-motivated,
willing and comfortable of spending large amount of time in lab
generating data
- Solid understanding of in vitro assay (Cell based and
Biochemistry) development and validation
- Demonstrated ability to perform experiments and solve technical
problems effectively and independently
- Able to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret
results in order to suggest, design and pursue relevant experiments
with appropriate controls
- Proficient in general cell culture skills and basic assay
techniques (eg. mammalian cell culture, qRT-PCR, Western blot,
ELISA, immunocytochemistry).
- Experience in isolating and culturing primary cells from
rodent/human tissues, primary neuron and glia culture experience is
preferred.
- Experience in neuronal/glial function assays is desirable (eg.
Ca2+ imaging, MEA, patch, FLIPR)
- Experience in developing and troubleshooting cell-based assays
