Technician III (SD Manufacturing)
Shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm-7:00am
The Technician III (SD Manufacturing) synthesizes custom
oligonucleotides according to the customer’s order and internal
specifications, and performs departmental training, higher level
synthesis tasks, troubleshoots, and facilitates communication
within the group and with additional IDT departments.
Job Specific Essential Functions:
Synthesizes, cleaves, deprotects, purifies, performs QC sampling
and analysis, and ensures final packing and formulation of

Keeps thorough records of specialized processes in the oligo
Follows documented custom instructions, when applicable
Assists in the organization and prioritization of the
workflow. Oversees the workflow if a Team Leader or
management is not present
Assists in the training of new Production Scientists and
Uses lab equipment appropriately and assists in limited
maintenance and troubleshooting activities
Uses custom software packages to complete tasks and create final
Interprets QC results and recognizes when failures warrant
Assists in the processing and documentation of non-standard
Adheres to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination
Prepares, tests and monitors reagents for synthesis,
purification, and quality control processes in a timely manner
Prioritizes incoming orders to best meet guaranteed ship
Analyzes data and information for quality, consistency and

Associate’s (2 year) degree or comparable combination of
education and experience required.
Bachelor’s (4 year) degree preferred. Science related
field (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) preferred.
