Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is seeking a compassionate Veterinarian committed to delivering high-quality, end-of-life care for pets in their most tender stages. As a specialized Veterinarian for our team, you will play a critical role in assisting families through the process of saying goodbye to their beloved pets at home. Your practice will focus on palliative care, pain management, and euthanasia, ensuring that each farewell is as peaceful and dignified as possible. This position is ideal for those who find profound satisfaction in aiding pets and their families during these intimate final moments, providing emotional support and expert medical care. Conduct in-home consultations to assess the pet's condition and discuss palliative care options with owners Administer pain management treatments and provide medical care tailored to the needs of the pets in the terminal stages Perform in-home euthanasia and guide families through the process with empathy and professionalism Assist in the arrangement of aftercare services including cremation or burial Communicate regularly with pet owners, offering emotional support and medical advice during their pet’s end-of-life stages Strong communication skills, especially in sensitive or emotionally charged situations Proficient in administering anesthesia and performing euthanasia Ability to handle grief-stricken pet owners with empathy and professionalism Experience in pain management and palliative care for animals Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of employment Certification in animal euthanasia techniques, preferred but not mandatory
