You have a grounded and compassionate bedside manner with gentle approach and treat with an evidenced-based approach and a heart-centered presence. You're dedicated to learning, working as a team and comfortable receiving feedback. You enjoy working closely and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to provide care that is integrated and compatible with the patient-focused mental health goals and objectives. You possess sound leadership and strong communication skills with a record of consistently high quality clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others. You excel in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and follow through with directions until completion.What to expect: Sessions are predominantly 1:1 with 50-minute psychiatric evaluation and 30-minute follow-ups with a low weekly census caseload, providing ample time to support collaboration, administrative responsibilities and department development.Primary responsibilities includes:

  • Provide/Support comprehensive psychiatric care -- to include, but not limited to, psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic assessment, medication management, psycho-education, and follow-up
  • Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests
  • Monitor and record vital signs of patients
  • Document patient information, including medical history and progress notes
  • Monitor, evaluate, and track the patient's progress
  • Be the psychiatric liaison to the collaborative team, regarding updates and education about medications, progress and barriers to care
  • Support patients to successfully identify and meet their objectives.
  • Manage and oversee many elements of the psychiatric departmentAdditional responsibilities for full-time positions may include:
    • Oversee infection control as the Health and Safety officer
    • Provide oversight and compliance for Joint Commission Accreditation
    • Monitor, conduct and complete utilization reviews
    • Provide case management to support medical safety and objectives
    • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the medical department
    • Provide coverage for biofeedback (will be trained)
    • Provide nutrition education and support (ideal candidate)
    • Supervise other nurses on staffWhat applicants must bring:
      • LVN or RN with current CA license
      • minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in a day treatment, residential or hospital setting with significant experience with complex mental health conditions and substance use disorders
