Posted on: April 2, 2024

Job Description:

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Licensed Child Play Therapist to join our fun, connected, and positive-minded group of professionals. The ideal candidate enjoys working on a team, is organized, and is open to new experiences and learning new skills. They also have to be great with children and understand the unique ways to connect and communicate with them.

While our practice helps a wide variety of clients and diagnoses, we also specialize in working with families that are dealing with high-conflict divorce (i.e., checking in with the kiddos!). As we work with a lot of court-involved or court-ordered cases, we provide full in-house training on working with these cases and full support through every step of what may be an unfamiliar process! We are looking for someone passionate about working within a child-centered lens to prioritize children who may be hurting.

We are looking for someone willing to start part-time (15-20 hours per week, at 10-15 clients) and willing to grow into full-time (35 to 40 hours per week, at 25 -30 clients). We offer both salary and fee-for-service pay models to meet employees' needs. For licensed candidates, compensation ranges from $50 - $70 per hour (Depending on experience).

We are open to associate license-holding candidates who are attachment-based. For associates, compensation ranges from $30 - $45 per hour (Depending on experience).

Responsibilities:
--- Maintain a professional appearance and professional attitude in face-to-face interactions as well as on the telephone, via virtual meetings, and on social media
--- Participate in team meetings

--- Complete intake assessments which include documentation such as Mental Status Exams intake paperwork and other assessments

--- Complete invoices, bill payments, and progress notes within 24 hours of the time of service
--- Complete timesheet daily reflecting billable hours worked
--- Maintain client's charts and keep complete and correct documentation
--- Monitor caseload and schedule to make sure clients are being scheduled or discharged as needed, and schedule parent consultation sessions as appropriate
--- Notify FCT within 24 hours if you: 1. learn of your client's intent to do harm to self or others; 2. Receive a subpoena in relation to your work as a therapist regarding a client obtained via FCT or counseling services performed at FCT's facilities or 3. File a child or adult protective services report
--- Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment
--- Monitor email and other communication channels, and provide timely responses to both teammates and clients to ensure a high standard of care
--- Maintain a clean working environment

Qualifications:
--- Master's Degree in Professional Counseling or related field and registered or licensed in the state of California (LMFT/AMFT, LPCC/APCC, PsyD, PhD, etc.)
--- At least 1 year of family systems therapy training and experience
--- Clinical experience with children, teens, adults, and/or families with mental health issues (trauma, anxiety, depression, family issues, couples' issues, parenting, etc.)
--- Play Therapy experience
--- Knowledge of strategies for examining, applying, and evaluating various techniques and knowledge of child and adult attachment and positive parenting techniques
--- Must be warm, compassionate, energetic, and able to develop rapport with clients
--- Ability to empathize with clients
