About the Opportunity:
Our team is currently searching for a Biology Research Assistant I for this independent, non-profit institute in San Diego, CA that ranked number one globally in 2009 by ScienceWatch in the neuroscience and behavior field
Be a part of this independent nonprofit organization and architectural landmark that believes that every cure has a starting point.
You will be working under supervision, focusing on brain slicing and dissection, nuclei production and sorting for multi-omics analysis, protein biochemistry, and image analysis.
Biology Research Assistant I Responsibilities:
Performing various techniques in molecular biology such as RNA/DNA extraction and analysis
Analyzing cells/spines using various fluorescent and confocal microscopes for high power imaging
Slicing and dissecting brain tissue independently
Training and assisting other lab personnel on research techniques and use of laboratory equipment
Biology Research Assistant I Qualifications:
No professional experience is needed but relevant experience in a lab setting is required
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field
Theoretical and hands-on knowledge of histology and molecular biology techniques
Proficient in the operation of standard lab equipment and computer hardware/software
