Facility Description:

Grossmont Surgery Center is a fast-paced outpatient surgery center with 3 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms located in La Mesa CA. We operate Monday through Friday. No nights or weekends.

Our specialties include: Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Pain Management and Cardiovascular cases.

Our focus is on providing a safe patient culture and positive patient outcomes while serving our physicians and community.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing excellent patient care in various departments as assigned by leadership. We expect willingness to cross-train as necessary to be able to meet the needs of the center to include: Pre-operative, PACU, OR and GI departments. The position requires strong communication skills with patients, teammates and physicians. Strong teamwork is a must. As a part-time teammate, you may be asked to take on additional tasks such as Quality Council, projects or committees.

Key Responsibilities :

• Patient assessment, monitoring, implementing patient care from admission to discharge.
• Prepare patients for surgery; strong IV skills needed
• Provide patient/family teaching
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours according to the needs of the center
  • ACLS and BLS required at time of hire
  • Active CA RN licensure
  • Minimum 2 years acute care or outpatient experience required
  • Ambulatory Surgery experience preferred
  • Recent experience in Ophthalmology surgery preferred
  • Moderate sedation experience a plus
  • Circulating and/or teching for GI procedures a plus
  • Operating room experience preferred
  • AORN certificate a plus
    Experience:
    
    • Previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital operating room of no less than one (1) year.
