Federally Qualified Health Center operating in Southwestern
California is seeking an experienced Medical Director Full time,
Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
The Medical Director assures the highest standard of medical care
and compliance with all regulatory and professional guidelines.
Oversees medical staff policies, and procedures, and health care
delivery to assure quality patient care. Directs medical dept.
services, including the overall supervision of medical support
staff. Conducts and maintains evaluations of all medical providers.
Evaluates staff performance against job description criteria and
competency assessment. Facilitates and supervises the peer-review
process. Develops, maintains, and revises medical protocols,
policies and procedures in conjunction with medical, nursing, and
administrative staff.
The medical director conducts monthly medical staff meetings,
interpreting medical policies, objectives, and medical procedures
to medical staff. Keeps staff informed of organizational
activities, changes, plans, directions, etc. Maintains cooperative
relations with the medical community, other health care agencies,
professional organizations, government bodies and funding sources.
The medical director coordinates medical providers schedules and on
call arrangements. Meets regularly with the Chief Operations
Officer and Executive Director to share information and orchestrate
new developments. Determines and tracks CME needs and implements
CME programs for medical staff. Provides medical care to patients
within the scope of his-her licensure and in accordance with
community standards of care.
Candidate should have a minimum of two years community based
medical practice and experience managing health care delivery and
directing clinical systems. MD or DO degree with a current
California license to practice and board certification in Family
Practice or Internal Medicine. Thorough knowledge of principles and
practices of modern medicine related to public health services,
structure and functions of public health organizations. Familiarity
with managed care systems.
