We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Supervisor in the FRACAS Engineering division of our Engineering Field Support Department.

The FRACAS Engineering Supervisor provides direction to a team of FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System) Engineers and Technicians seeking to determine root cause for field failures and to implement effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. This position supports the FRACAS Engineering team by managing personnel and facilitating actions associated with technical investigations involving RCA (Root Cause Analysis).

This position is responsible for the planning, supervising, and technical performance of the FRACAS Engineering Group supporting the USAF customer. The Supervisor will participate in phases of assigned programs, projects or partial programs and/or projects including developing, evaluating, implementing, and monitoring management policies, principles and standards, to ensure compliance with customer, company, and governmental regulatory requirements. May accomplish objectives through support staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct the activities of FRACAS personnel in the department
Develop and implement Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) on UAV programs to military standards.
Develop appropriate metrics and prepare summary reports of failures, analyses, and corrective actions.
Must possess exemplary technical writing and editing skills.
Train and supervise personnel responsible for recording, analysis, and tracking of failures within various data collection systems.
Oversee a team of multi-disciplined engineers throughout the entire failure analysis process and make recommendations to the customer via a Failure Review Board (FRB).
Cultivate and maintain a strong working relationship with customer representatives
Maintain FRACAS database, monitor status, track open FRACAS investigations, and generate reports for management and customers.
Develop and deliver Power Point presentations to management and customers.
Determine resolution of UAV system failures and corrective actions in support of the FRACAS program.
Coordinate efforts and issue resolution with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programs, Material Control, and Quality departments.
Review of fault isolation and troubleshooting procedures for UAV systems.
Interface with engineering, manufacturing, test, quality, and field personnel to identify, classify, report, and track failures and corresponding corrective actions during contractor or Government testing at all levels of hardware and software systems and components.
Coordinate with engineering to ensure failures are analyzed, root cause determined, failure report written, and corrective actions are effective.
Experience in FMECA, MTBF, and reliability calculations.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Other duties as required.

Job Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years of experience with a master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Demonstrates an extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Able to work extended hours as required.
Direct experience supporting a FRACAS program is highly desired.
Familiarity with FRACAS software or databases and a working knowledge of Reliability Analysis and Failure Mode / Fault Tree Analysis is desired. Experience with USAF Deficiency Reporting, Investigation, and Resolution in accordance with T.O. 00-35D-54 is desired.
Experience supervising or leading teams of technical experts in tasks of varying complexity and scope.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects with strict adherence to customer imposed/contracted deadlines.
Experience troubleshooting complex aircraft systems including avionics, flight control, data link, engine, servos, and mechanical systems is desired. Ability to operate various test equipment is desired. Understanding of aircraft structures, flight dynamics, and environmental issues is desired.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
