Evergreen Evolution, LLCJob Description(Last Revised 11/12/2021Job Title: Purchasing ManagerSalary: $60,000 Salary + Available Benefits: Must have a background check with the city of La Mesa which is required prior to employmentDivision: Dr. GreenThumb's (DGT) San DiegoReports To: Owner-ManagerFLSA Status: ExemptSummary: Responsible for identifying the external needs of DGT, building vendor relationships, finding vendors who can meet supply needs, negotiating prices, monitoring inventory, arranging for purchase and delivery and meeting sales goals of the company. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of the products, how they are produced, their quality, where the products come from and for being the direct contact for Cannabis quality purchases by performing the following duties. Supervises the Production Manager and Processors.Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Executes and negotiates purchasing strategies.*Tracks and reports key METRCs to reduce expenses and improve department expenditures and efficiencies.*Coordinates and manages the processing of all purchase orders.*Coordinates all purchasing needs and forecasts inventory needs with each department head.*Monitors sales trends and ensures purchasing agents are meeting performance standards.*Meets with department heads regularly to forecast any bulk or strategic buys.*Proposes improvements to the current purchasing systems that will enhance vendor and customer relations, quality vendor retention and lower the cost of doing business.*Collaborates with inventory team and Production Manager to ensure inventory levels are properly maintained for all departments and outlets.*Monitors Bookkeeping -Accountant and Data Entry personnel reports to ensure all invoices are processed properly, product inventory data, and sales are accurate and that expenditures are within budget allowances.*Communicates effectively with receiving intake team to ensure products are in their ideal state upon arrival.*Has an ability to find and purchase a variety of quality Cannabis products from qualified vendors seeking the best value within budget constraints.*When products are damaged or order is incomplete, can identify vendor error, and rectify and document incidents.*Implements best practices in the Cannabis purchasing program processes.*Reviews Web personnel ads for best marketing strategies for DGT products.*Scales purchasing program as needed to procure bulk pricing when available.*Supervises Production Manager, Processors, Data Entry personnel, and develops a team that reinforces best purchasing practices.*Maximizes client offerings in order to entice clients to be enthusiastic DGT return customersHas excellent analytical skills. *Has networking capacities for finding and retaining quality vendors.*Travels to find new and popular products for retail inventory.*Must be motivated, hard-working and passionate with an ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.*Valid State Driver's License.*Other purchasing duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages Production Manager who directs several Processing employees, Data Entry, and Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these personnel. Also directly supervises six-seven employees (who are non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; monitoring employee performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, and building a productive team.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Applications, Quick-Books, METRC systems, Excel and POS.Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Specialized Training: Must be able to input and access information in the POS, delivery systems, marketing outlets, computers, etc.Must be able to provide data based, clear and accurate reports to the Manager-Chief Operating Officer.Certificates and Licenses: State Driver's License.Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: Be a clear thinker , remain calm, and resolve problems.Must have excellent supervisory skills and capabilities to inspire productivity in employees who work with purchasing deadlines and details.Be able to prioritize and organize details.Perform all job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.Must be able to work as a cohesive and collaborative member of a team.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
